Mothers of adolescents and adults with autism experience chronic stress comparable to combat soldiers and struggle with frequent fatigue and work interruptions, research finds. These moms also spend significantly more time care-giving than moms of those without disabilities.

Marsha Mailick Seltzer, a researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison authored the study.
One in 32 children in Katy has been identified with

Respite and Childcare:

No matter what the reason, from time to time, parents need a break.  Unfortunately, not everyone has access to a doting Grandma, or other trusted adult to watch little ones for a few hours. When it comes to finding care providers for difficult kids, or fragile kids, it can be near impossible to get help. The following resources can help you find what you are looking for whether it is a weekend with the girls, a much needed date night, or a nanny because you need to work.
